Balakrishna stars as Krishna who lives far away from his family in Dubai. He who doesn’t tolerate injustice and would go to any length to save the ones who are close to his heart. His grandmother wants him to stay away from violence and lead a peaceful life. One fine day Krishna falls in love with Sonal Chauhan and on his return to India he clashes with Jitender’s (Jagapathi Babu) son and kills him in a fight. After this situation Jitender want to take revenge on Krishna and he plans a sketch to kill him. Here the movie takes the turn where the 2nd character of Balakrishna (Simhachalam) enters and saves Krishna. Who is the Simhachalam and what is the relationship with Krishna? And is there is any clash between Jitender and Legend (Simhachalam)? For all the questions you have to watch movie in theatre only.
First thing , “Legend” belongs to two people. Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu. Balakrishna is back with a bang with this film and he dazzles both as Krishna and Simhachalam. Boyapati Srinu who also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film has infused loads of punch dialogues which suits well for Balakrishna’s characterization in the film. Jagapathi Babu’s act as the antagonist
After a long time, Balakrishna dazzles not only with his dialogues, but also with his style. The macho look hits a high especially when he unleashes his anger and fury while chasing the villains with an axe. Both the heroins has an important role to play in this film.
Despite all the right ingredients of a mass film, “Legend” does get overboard at times as far as the action sequences are concerned. Brahamanandam comedy was dragged. There’s too much of blood-splattering which makes us a little uneasy. some dialogues are very bold to listen for the family audience.
Devi Sri Prasad’s music is good especially in action sequences is impressive. Ram-Lakshman have done a great job while composing action choreography. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao’s editing is apt. The production values are rich and most of the scenes are wonderfully shot. Boyapati Srinu deserves all the credit for extracting such a powerful performance from the lead cast. He unleashes Balakrishna’s powerful performance in first half, while the second is a totally different story. It’s easily one of the best roles Balakrishna has essayed in the recent few years. Apart from the direction, Boyapati also impresses with his dialogues. With Legend, Boyapati Srinu is back with a bang.
Overall, ‘Legend’ is a stylish mass entertainer that showcases all of Balakrishna’s abilities very well. The superb second half is a big asset. However, Legend is definitely worth a watch for its peppy music and sizzling chemistry between the lead pair, the film should work well at the Box Office and Balakrishna’s fans will be a delighted lot.
