Web2look Rating:   3/5Story:

Gautam (Mahesh babu), a rockstar has a dreadful childhood. He becomes a helpless witness to his parents brutal murder by three men. He grows up with vengeance and one fine day kills a man. He surrenders to Police for the crime committed but only to realize it is all his hallucination and he never committed the crime. Then enters Sameera (Kriti) a TV Reporter who helps Gautam in finding the truth. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

How they performed?:

Mahesh Babu looked amazing in his new leaner look. Most of the times he is seen in a simple T-shirt and jeans in the movie but yet he looked adorable. His face seem to have lost a bit of shine may be due to the work outs but he managed to show a new styling all together in the movie. Coming to the performance, a complex story like this needs 100% involvement and dedication of an actor and Mahesh managed it perfectly. It is the most intense character ever played by Mahesh. He had put in some efforts in dances too.

Kriti Sanon plays Sameera, a TV Reporter. She looks hot and did a pretty decent job. Gautam, the scion of Mahesh makes his debut with the movie. He performed exceedingly well to that of his age. Also, the purpose is served. Fans will go delirious whenever he appeared on screen. Other actors Nassar as a Cab driver, Anu Hasan, Sayaji Shinde, Pradeep Rawat, Kelly Dorji, Vikram Singh, Posani Krishna Murali as Cab driver Gulab Singh, Srinivasa Reddy, Anand and Supreet Reddy have done their part reasonably well.

Technical Performances:

Sukumar is always know to travel in the path less traveled. 1-Nenokkadine is also an unconventional story for Tollywood. Adding to it, Sukumar’s screenplay needs lot of brains for ordinary people to understand. As a result, we often see people connecting to the movie in parts not as a whole. In the show, I have watched a person behind me said, “Cinema ki vachinattu ledhu edho IIT Coaching center lo koorchunattu undhi” speaks volumes about it. The comedy quotient is also absent in a nearly three hour movie which also tests your patience.

Ratnavelu’s cinematography is an asset to the movie and it is almost like watching a Hollywood film. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the first time to a Mahesh Babu film and he lived up to the expectations. His rerecording work in most scenes enhanced the effect of the thriller. The film is incredibly lengthy almost 170 minutes… Editor should have worked better. Production Values of 14 Reels are top notch. You can see the richness in every frame.

Final Say:

Films are the cheapest and most common form of entertainment in Andhra Pradesh. A normal layman to a businessman watch films to pass his time and enjoy it. But 1-Nenokkadine is not like you can sit back and enjoy, you have to be attentive to understand it in the first place with the complex story and screenplay. And as the movie deals with hallucination and illusions, the logic takes a toss number of times. Simply, the movie fails to live up to its promise. Coming to the box office prediction, the movie may enjoy the roost till Sankranthi weekend!
